Whether you have a few hours to give, want to volunteer regularly, prefer to help from home, or have professional skills you’d like to put to good use, there’s a way for you to make a difference.

Every clothing kit we provide to a child is made possible by people who give their time, talents, and resources to help. And there are so many different ways to be part of it.

You don’t need a special skill, a lot of free time, or a long-term commitment. You just need a desire to help.

Your Time Makes a Real Difference

At The Pass Along Project, we provide children in foster care and other children in need with thoughtfully prepared clothing and basic necessities.

But before those items can reach a child, a lot has to happen behind the scenes.

Donations need to be collected. Clothing needs to be washed and sorted. Socks, underwear, diapers, and other essentials need to be prepared. Kits need to be assembled. Deliveries need to be made. Donations need to be raised. Events need to be planned. And people need to hear about the work we’re doing.

That’s where our volunteers come in.

Whether you’re working directly with the clothing or helping us behind the scenes, your contribution helps us get what children need into their hands.

How Would You Like to Help?

There isn’t just one way to volunteer with The Pass Along Project. Here are some of the ways we currently need help.

HANDS-ON HELP

If you like seeing the results of your work right in front of you, we have plenty to do!

Volunteers help us:

  • Sort donated clothing

  • Wash and prepare clothing

  • Create clothing kits

  • Assemble Baby Items kits

  • Repackage socks, underwear, diapers, and other essentials

  • Help with clothing drives and sorting events

  • Tackle other projects that help us keep clothing moving out to children who need it

ON THE ROAD

Sometimes the biggest help is simply getting things from Point A to Point B.

Volunteers can help:

  • Pick up clothing donations

  • Transport donations to our Manchester location

  • Deliver completed clothing kits (background check required)

  • Help with other local transportation needs as they arise

USE YOUR SKILLS

You don’t have to sort clothing to make an impact.

Running and growing a nonprofit takes many different skills, and we would love to connect with people who can lend their professional experience or talents.

We may need help with:

  • Grant research and grant writing

  • Social media

  • Marketing

  • Volunteer recruitment

  • Event planning

  • Fundraising and development

  • Communications

  • Administrative projects

  • Photography, design, technology, or other professional skills

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Sometimes the most valuable thing you can give us is an introduction.

We need volunteers who can help us connect with local businesses, organizations, and community partners that may be willing to support our work.

That might mean helping us:

  • Connect with businesses that could donate clothing, supplies, services, or financial support

  • Build relationships with community organizations

  • Introduce The Pass Along Project to employers or groups looking for ways to give back

  • Identify potential sponsors or community partners

  • Organize a donation drive at your workplace, organization, school, or within your community

You don’t have to personally provide the donation to make a difference. Sometimes opening the right door can have an incredible impact.

You Don’t Need a Lot of Free Time to Make a Difference

Volunteering doesn’t have to mean making the same commitment every week.

Some of our volunteers help regularly. Others lend a hand during a clothing drive, make an occasional delivery, tackle a project from home, or share a professional skill when we need it.

You can help in the way that works for you.

One-Time or Occasional

Join us for a special event, sorting day, clothing drive, delivery, or project when your schedule allows.

Ongoing

Become one of the volunteers we can count on regularly to help keep things moving.

Skills-Based

Use your professional experience or a particular talent to help with a specific need or project.

There’s value in all of it.

Want to Get Your Group Involved?

Volunteering can also be something you do together.

Businesses, employee teams, community organizations, civic groups, school groups, and other organizations can support The Pass Along Project through group volunteer projects, donation drives, fundraising, or other opportunities.
